12:15 p.m. Bible Study
At its best, Bible Study in community fosters curiosity, reverence and a deeper, more meaningful relationship with God and our neighbor.
We do not work with a set curriculum, but rather, choose a book of the Bible to study slowly and carefully, guided by the work of of a variety of scholars and experts. As we study a text, we repeatedly stop and ask ourselves what it has to do with our faith as we live it now, in this particular time and place.
For the Season after Pentecost, we will do a comprehensive study of the Gospel of Mark
and invite you to join us on Tuesdays, at 12:15 p.m.
10-10:35 p.m. Morning Prayer
Welcome to the website of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Montgomery, Alabama. We’re glad you’ve stopped by. We hope that you’ll find what you’re looking for on this site, and when you come visit us, we hope you’ll find what you’re looking for in a church home.
We have core values that we hold very dear:
Everyone is welcome, appreciated, and valued. And, we really do mean everyone;
God calls us to minister to those who are hungry or in any need. We address this with our food pantry and community garden.
Spiritual growth happens best in community. We genuinely like each other. We play together. We eat together. We worship together.
Corporate worship and prayer under gird all other work and mission..
We are called to preach and live out the grace, love and mercy of Jesus Christ. There is enough judgement in the world. In Christ there is no condemnation. There isn’t any here either.
When you come visit us, don’t worry about how you’re dressed, or how much faith you have, or don’t have. Bring your doubts, fears, and questions. We’ll walk with you, wherever you are on your faith journey, because we are all on that journey, too.
